How to Play
Objective
Be the last species standing, or have the most Food when the Era Deck runs out. If the Ecosystem Health reaches 0, everyone loses.
Round Structure
- ERA PHASE — Flip the top Era card. Apply its effect immediately.
- DRAW PHASE — All players draw to their hand size.
- ACTION PHASE — Each player plays one card clockwise. Velociraptor must play two.
- UPKEEP — Each species spends 1 Food. Brachiosaurus generates +1 Food at the start of each round (treetop grazing). If you hit 0 Food, lose an Extinction Token.
- FOOD CAP — No species can hold more than 12 Food at any time. Excess is lost.
- ECOSYSTEM CHECK — If Health = 0, everyone loses.
Species Perks
- T-Rex: Once per round, force a rival to discard a random card. Hand size: 5.
- Brachiosaurus: Immune to Ground cards. Generates 1 Food per round from treetop grazing. Standard 1 Food upkeep.
- Velociraptor: Must play 2 cards per turn — Pack Hunt Combo fires both at full effect. If hand drops to 3 or fewer cards, Pack Hunt suspends for 2 turns.
- Marine: Uses Population Tokens instead of Extinction Tokens. Can regain tokens by skipping.
- Archaeopteryx: Immune to Land Catastrophes. Vulnerable to Atmospheric cards.
- Triceratops: Can share one card per round with an ally — both players gain the full effect.
Ecosystem Health
Starts at 8. Attack cards reduce it by 1. Area attacks by 2. If it hits 0, the game ends and nobody wins.
Survival Instinct
When a species is down to their last Extinction Token, they draw +1 card per round.
